Festivals
Jamaica

Reggae Sumfest, held during the third week of July in Montego Bay, Jamaica’s second largest city, has earned a reputation as the biggest music festival in Jamaica and the Caribbean and one the world’s leading reggae and dancehall music festivals. Paying homage to the musical genres that originated in Jamaica, and now influence mainstream urban and pop music, it is known for electrifying performances from local and international artists. Past performers include Jamaican reggae artists Maxi Priest and Ziggy Marley, dancehall stars Sean Paul, Barrington Levy, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Elephant Man and Buju Banton as well as international artists including Rihanna, Kanye West, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, 50 Cent and Usher. The event has six nights of activities, starting with an all-night beach dance party and continuing each evening with live performances. Attracting crowds of all ages and from around the globe, Reggae Sumfest celebrates not only the music of Jamaica, but this energetic country’s culture, food and the island itself.
